Technically, I'm not that unhappy, but I'm not feeling awesome enough to set my mood to "Neutral" either. Besides, the Neutral emoticon looks a bit odd to me. xD

So, the good news is I've won the short story and bookmark contest at school. :woot: Yay! I really didn't expect to win, especially the bookmark contest because there were so many awesome entries.

But besides that, life is...just okay, I suppose. My media arts project is overdue (and my computer lags seriously when I work on it at home), my mom is constantly complaining about how I never exercise ( >.< ), and I get to practically live at school tomorrow, because I'm going to be there for a good twelve hours. 'Tis is the life when you're part of Yearbook and are approaching the final deadline.

Urgh.

I'm going to upload my short story now, and be off. I think I'll need more sleep than my usual five hours if I plan to survive tomorrow.

break

*blinks* 3001 pageviews. Wow. xD

Anyways, I think I'm going to need glasses sooner if the rest of my semester goes this way. My eyesight's good, and still is, but since three of my four classes are spent in front of computers and the rest of my day is also spent in front of the computers (either at Yearbook, doing homework, or doing random things on the computer), it means that most of my waking hours are spent staring at bright CRT monitors. Fun, fun.

So. *sigh* A history assignment is finally off my back (I hate how my teacher forced us to use Times New Roman though) as well as a few Yearbook proofs. Huge projects are beginning to ramp up soon though, so I thought I'd just drop by before being whisked away into some fancy Photoshop world by my tech teachers.

I've spent the past five hours here - four of them spent working on a bookmark for the school bookmark contest for Literacy Week. It's done and sent, and I will upload it here once the contest is over (in mid-March). Same with the poem and short story that I've written for the other contests part of Literacy Week.

Last twenty minutes? Spent restraining myself from clobbering my monitor because Firefox kept crashing. Grr.

And I still have history homework to work on. My brain hurts. Good thing that it's Friday tomorrow, and bad thing that it's Friday tomorrow. It'd be nice if we had a snow day. Or a half day. Something of the sort.

Oh! I just finished a painting in Photoshop in my media arts class. I'll go upload that now.

day six

Day six of what, you say? Well, it's day 6 of all Chinese New Year celebrations (though in Canada, all celebrations end after the first couple of days). And I will be uploading a piece relating to the Chinese New Year soon, after I finish writing this.

The past week I've spent being sick, trying to avoid speaking in class if necessary since my voice came and went every once in a while, which was really annoying. So, because I was sick, I spent most of my time outside of school sleeping, eating, or wondering why I had to get sick exactly when I had the most free time. (I guess it's sort of better than being sick during exams though.)

Now, I think I'm almost completely better, and since none of my classes have been giving real homework so far (real homework being homework that needs to be worked on for at least an hour), I have time to sit in front of the computer all day doing stuff. Also, you can probably expect some of my Media Arts or Communications Tech projects uploaded here in the future once they're completed.

Mmm, so yeah. The snow looks so pretty outside. ^^

snow day

Journal Entry: Fri Feb 1, 2008, 6:03 AM
  • Mood: Happy
  • Listening to: September - "Can't Get Over"
  • Reading: Meg Cabot - Queen of Babble in the City
  • Watching: The blowing snow outside.
  • Playing: With the snow. (I wish.)
  • Eating: Nothing. Don't want to brush my teeth again.
  • Drinking: Water.
Yes, yes, yes! Finally, for once, we here news channels and radio stations say those two words: "SNOW DAY." And this time, it's not just cancelling those stupid buses that never run at the sight of a few snowflakes and a freshly plowed road (meep. don't sue me.), it's the whole school board. Actually, several of them.

Whee! :w00t:

So now it's 7:50 AM, and I don't have to go to school. Which leaves a lot of time on my hands, since today was supposed to be the first day of the new semester. Henceforth, we have no homework to work on, and because of the conditions outside, nowhere to go today either. Hmm. What shall I do?

I guess I'll go back to bed eventually. I only got five hours of sleep yesterday. And maybe wake up later and try to convince my parents that I have to walk to the local library to take out Cecelia Ahern's A Place Called Here. I've been waiting to read that book for a long time, ever since ~The-art-a-bella showed it to me in math class...last year? I think so. But it was never in the library. And now it is. :excited: I want to get it before someone else will this time.

Maybe I'll read now. I took out four books from the library yesterday, finished one - How to Be Popular by Meg Cabot - and got through half of Queen of Babble in the Big City by the time it was two in the morning, when my eyes got all blurry from reading about eight hours straight.

Mm, yeah. I'm a book addict. I admit it. Shove me into a library, and within half an hour I will have an armful of books. Then I will go home, and finish at least one of them in the same day. ^^;

Ack. My head sort of hurts now. I think it's from the lack of sleep and those kids that live upstairs running around in their excitement over having a snow day. :shakefist: Stop running! There's snow outside! Go play in the white fluffy snow! >.<

Sleep. Yeah. I should go before someone realizes that I'm on Windows Live Messenger and starts messaging me.

February 1st! Yay! Way to start off a month! xD

(If anything doesn't make sense, it's because I never check over anything. It's okay. You're not going crazy.)

the theme challenge

Journal Entry: Wed Jan 30, 2008, 9:02 PM
  • Mood: Zest
  • Listening to: Clay Aiken - "The Way"
  • Reading: nothing. Still haven't gone to library yet.
  • Watching: um...the news channel. Ugh. >.<
  • Playing: with my food.
  • Eating: dinner. Rice, eggs, and some...pork?
  • Drinking: water.
Firefox has become familiar again. The only problem is, it keeps freezing. That means that I have to shut it off and restart it. Grr. It's so annoying. *pokes Firefox, who glares at me and tries to blast me with fire*

Hmm, no events tomorrow. No school, no yearbook, no surprise parties...no waking up early. Yay! I get to sleep in tomorrow! Aweshum. ^^

I was reading through some of the old comments that I haven't replied to yet (think early summer of 2007), and I came across ~xxx-fancy-xxx's journal about the 100 Theme Challenge. And frankly, I got excited. It looks so promising, despite the daunting number of 100. I don't even have 100 deviations here yet, and this tells me that I have to do 100 different pieces? But it made me happy. Since I have time on my hands now, I think I will start the challenge. Starting with thinking of what my overall theme/medium would be. :excited: I can't wait!

Ooh. C'est dinner time. Will be back to wander soon.
