The Year of the Rat officially started February 7 this year (2008). And what better way to celebrate the Chinese New Year with a new desktop wallpaper?

The phrase in the front saying "恭喜發財" means "congratulations and be prosperous." (You can read more about it in the Wikipedia article on Chinese New Year.) The character in the background "福" means "good fortune" (fortune being luck, not just money).

Created with Adobe Photoshop CS3. Mouse (or rat, whatever suits your fancy) drawn free hand. Took so much time to get the body remotely...normal looking, if that even looks normal.

EDIT: This, on some monitors, may look a bit too light. That's because my monitor's brightness (and contrast, to some extent) is set really low, so when I made this, I forgot that most people probably do not turn their monitors down so much. I've updated to a darker version now; if you want the original lighter one, just let me know and I'll send it to you.
